FSC Certification

Printcrafters is an FSC certified printer, one of the growing numbers of printers in North America to offer the printing of FSC stocks. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international network that promotes responsible management of the world's forests. They have developed certification programs for organizations that can demonstrate that the resources used come from forests that meet stringent environmental, social and economic standards.

The FSC certification involves maintaining stringent records as to the source of paper throughout the print, finishing and finally to the shipping process. Being an FSC certified printer means that we have a process in place to use FSC Certified Papers that originates from certified forests. We must prove to FSC that we have implemented a documented control system which includes procedures for; tracking and handling the paper, appointing personnel who will be responsible for controlling the system, creating forms and records to control the process, creating procedures for labeling / logo use and establishing a protocol for keeping records that pertain to certifications. To maintain Chain-of-Custody Certification FSC, we must strictly respect the rules and procedures set in the document control system and undergo random annual on-site audits for the term of certification (5 years) proving our control system for tracking and handling of certified papers are kept correct and up-to-date. The FSC logo can be used on any job that is printed on FSC certified stock and only by an FSC Certified printer.
